Please read these terms carefully before using Medha. By using this service you agree to be bound by these terms.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Medha, an AI-based chatbot that extracts answers from a corpus of books, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use Medha. You must be at least 13 years of age to use this service. If you are under 18, you should use Medha only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Description of Service
Medha is an artificial intelligence chatbot designed to provide information and answers based on a knowledge base derived from a corpus of books. Medha's responses are generated algorithmically based on this pre-existing knowledge base.
AI Content Disclaimer
Medha is an AI tool and not a substitute for expert advice. Important limitations to understand:
- Medha's responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or incomplete information.
- Responses should not be considered authoritative religious, spiritual, legal, medical, or professional advice of any kind.
- Always consult a qualified Acharya, scholar, or relevant professional for authoritative guidance on important matters.
- Medha may occasionally produce responses that do not accurately reflect the source texts or the Arya Samaj tradition.
- The AI may generate content that appears plausible but is factually incorrect (known as 'hallucination'). Verify important claims independently.
Copyright & Licensing
Medha's knowledge base is derived from Vedic scriptures, the works of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, and other Arya Samaj texts. Regarding intellectual property:
- The Vedas and ancient Sanskrit texts referenced by Medha are in the public domain.
- Works by Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati, including Satyarth Prakash (Light of Truth), Rigvedadi Bhashya Bhumika, and Vedic commentaries, are used in accordance with applicable copyright provisions. Many of these texts are in the public domain due to their age.
- Modern translations, commentaries, and interpretive works remain the intellectual property of their respective authors and publishers. Medha's use of such works is limited to short excerpts for educational and informational purposes under fair use / fair dealing provisions.
- AI-generated responses by Medha are original compositions based on the source material and do not constitute direct reproduction of copyrighted works.
- You may not use Medha's output to create derivative works for commercial purposes without permission.
Use of Service
- You may use Medha for informational and personal, non-commercial purposes only.
- You agree not to use Medha for any unlawful or prohibited purpose.
- You agree not to use Medha in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the service.
- You agree not to attempt to extract the underlying data or algorithms of Medha.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall the providers of Medha be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of or inability to access or use Medha.
- Any conduct or content of any third party.
- Any content obtained from Medha.
- Unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.
Disclaimer of Warranty
Medha is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The providers of Medha make no warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Modifications to Terms
The providers of Medha reserve the right to modify or revise these Terms at any time. Your continued use of Medha after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
Termination
The providers of Medha may terminate or suspend your access to Medha at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For users in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For users in California, USA, your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) are preserved.
